PokerStars announced its latest competition in the cash game, PokerStars All Stars, in which the strongest players will fight with each other to demonstrate the best aspects of the game.
The one-month No-Limit Hold’em tournament is divided into two parts – NL200 (Masters) and NL2000 (All Stars). Rake is not charged, the prize pool will be $100,000, access is granted to a limited number of players. Under the terms, PokerStars will also have access to a hand history to cover the progress of the fight. The first season of these tournaments starts in April and May.
“We want to showcase these games and remind all poker players that cash games are exciting and aspirational,” director of Poker Innovation and Operations for PokerStars Severin Russet wrote on the PokerStars blog.
To qualify to participate in the All Stars tournament, players must have a certain amount of wins on the No-Limit Hold’em tables over the past 12 months.
Qualified players will be notified by e-mail in the coming weeks. From this point on, the course of the tournament will depend entirely on the skill of the players. If the tournaments are successful, PokerStars will consider the possibility of a second season and, possibly, add other games and formats.
